The location is perfect for hiking enthusiasts.
Despite numerous attempts to reach the guesthouse for help, we received no response, leaving us feeling abandoned. The accommodation was not prepared to inform guests of weather-related risks, unacceptable.

Very clean bed in queen room with tea and coffee making equipment, a multi-channel television, and a writing table. River view, pretty friendly staff.

The hotel was a cozy base for enjoying a tranquil area, right by a good restaurant called Cowshed as well as a very quiet farm close to a river and a waterfall. Tastefully decorated and soundproof room with private bathroom, the staff was very very helpful. Had a very lovely stay on our Iceland road trip and would like to go back there again.

The view was amazing. With the glacier in the background and waterfalls nearby. Breakfast included delicious local specialties. We even spotted sheep grazing right outside our window.

What stands out, both good and bad
Perfect location for adventures. The well trained staff even extended breakfast hours for our family. Spacious areas around for hiking led to a nice experience.
Limited dining options available, and inconsistent cleanliness was concerning. The shared bathroom facilities could definitely use modernization.

Shared bathrooms need modernization!!! Noise from morning activities disrupts sleep!!! Overpriced accommodations for offered amenities!!!

A Nice Stay with Amazing Views
The modernized room provided a comfortable retreat after our long day. Don't miss the chance to enjoy the local tomatoes at breakfast, lovely! Keep in mind dining options are limited nearby.

The guesthouse is in a perfect spot, super close to amazing hikes just behind the house. I loved having my own half-cabin, very quaint and quiet. The breakfast was really nice too, with a good variety of options. And a cute little farm dog greeted us upon arrival!
totally recommend

I seriously considered a good review, but alas-the staff totally ignored my calls during a storm. The room was warm, and don't even get me started on the outdated shared bathroom. It would have been nice to have a little compensation for my miserable experience, not just a regular room! Disappointment city, honestly.

Perfect spot for nature lovers!
This place is a cozy gem! The location is super close to awesome hikes and we even spotted the Northern Lights right from our window. The kitchen setup in the cottage was handy, but it would've been nice to have a microwave. Loved hanging out on the picnic tables outside enjoying the fresh air.

Just a reliable pick for shopping in Skalafell with attractive and competitive value for money. The kitchen was handy, making it easy to prepare some quick meals. Remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, as only hand soap is provided.

The views were fine, and the breakfast options were excellent. The breakfast featured the best tomatoes I've ever tried. The staff was helpful, even preparing a to-go breakfast for me. I wish I could have stayed longer to explore more of the area, especially for someone who loves the local culture.
I noticed that my room didn't have a phone or TV, a bit unexpected. The towels had a strange smell, disappointing.
